Your tour begins with your hotel pick up. Meet your guide and board a private vehicle heading north for an hour to Chile’s beautiful Aconcagua Valley.
You will first visit Viña Sanchez de Loria for a winery tour and wine tasting. The Sanchez de Loria family descends from Don Jose Teodoro Sanchez de Loria, who arrived in Chile in 1785, appointed by the King of Spain to serve as a judge in the Royal Colonial Court. His grandson, Enrique Sanchez Faulkner founded the winery in 1890, convinced of the exceptional quality of the Aconcagua Valley terroir. He planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Torontel vines, making them one of the oldest grape varieties in the Aconcagua Valley and in Chile. Since then, the winery has remained in the family, who has maintained the values of originality, quality, and tradition from generation to generation, positioning their wines at the highest quality standards.
Next, you will visit Viña Errazuriz, where you will enjoy this lovely winery nestled on the western slopes of the Andes Mountains. You will learn about the history of the descendants of this marvelous place and how the winery has evolved into its current state producing some of the finest wines in Chile and the world. You will visit the underground cellars and walk around the vineyard before a wonderful tasting of the vineyard’s wines.
Afterwards, there will be time for lunch, if desired, at the rustic countryside restaurant Juan y Medio, an old monastery where the Catholic monks used to make wine. Click here for the restaurant’s menu. Otherwise, you will return to your hotel.
Please note:
(1) The order of the vineyards visited may vary.
(2) Although this is a private tour with your own vehicle and guide, there may be other visitors at the vineyards joining you on the winery tours and tastings, which is beyond our control.
