Day 1:
Flight from Santiago to Puerto Montt. Transfer to hotel in Puerto Varas.
Tour of Puerto Montt, Frutillar and Puerto Varas
After your airport pick up, we begin the tour in Puerto Montt, a port and industrial city that was founded by German settlers more than 150 years ago. This city is the northern gateway to Patagonia. Here we will visit the Plaza de Armas, Cathedral and Manuel Montt Overlook from where there are panoramic views of Reloncaví Bay.
Then, we will drive to Frutillar. In Frutillar, you will feel a pleasant atmosphere with colorful houses, cheerful gardens, tea rooms and the modern lakefront theater “Teatro del Lago”. Discover this charming village where Lake Lanquihue and various volcanoes are part of the landscape. Here it is possible to experience the heritage of the German settlers, with spectacular old mansions, delicious Bavarian cuisine, and kuchen pastries or apple strudel. Frutillar enchants the visitor all year round with its beauty.
Afterwards, we will continue on a rural road used by farmers, so you can observe the agricultural and livestock activity that takes place in the area. We will continue onward to Puerto Varas, which also is known for its culture of German influence, seafood, and beautiful surroundings. Enjoy the views of the lake, the snow-capped Calbuco and Osorno Volcanos and Tronador Mountain, and stroll through the stores in search of local crafts.

Day 2:
Tour of Petrohue Falls, Todos Los Santos Lake, and Osorno Volcano with Typical Chilean Barbecue and Wine
Today is a day to be in nature. We will start with a drive along the shore of Lake Llanquihue until we reach Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park where we will visit Petrohue Falls. These impressive falls were formed by the eruption of Osorno Volcano.
Then, we continue onwards to Todos los Santos Lake and take a 30-minute boat ride on the emerald water, followed by a drive up Osorno Volcano for spectacular views of Lago Llanquihue.
Day 3:
Panoramic Tour of Chiloe Island and Penguin Colony (November – March Only – Weather Permitting)
Leaving from the city of Puerto Varas, we head towards the Pacific Ocean and the small village of Pargua. From there we will cross the Chacao Channel separating the island of Chiloe from the mainland.
Upon arriving in the city of Ancud, we will visit the old San Antonio Fort, the main square and the city market. We will have time to walk around downtown and along the waterfront.
Then we will drive another 15 miles along the Pacific coast to a village called Puñihuil, where two species of penguins (Magellanic and Humboldt) settle for breeding offspring from November to March. During these months, we will take a small motorboat excursion with special guides who will introduce us to the fauna of the tiny islands offshore that make up Puñihuil Natural Monument.
Afterwards, you will have a BBQ picnic lunch with wine before heading back to Puerto Varas. This will be an unforgettable moment!
Day 4:
Tour to Termas del Sol Hot Springs
Enjoy a day trip from Puerto Varas to Termas del Sol, traveling along Route 225 and visiting Cochamó, Ralún, and Puelo. Relax in its thermal pools surrounded by nature.
You will be picked you up from your hotel in Puerto Varas and travel a scenic route through mountains, past rivers, and offering views of the Reloncaví Estuary. Along the way, you visit the picturesque town of Cochamó and continue on to Ralún and Puelo.
Upon arrival at Termas del Sol, you will have free time to soak in its natural pools of varying temperatures, surrounded by a stunning ecological environment. The facilities include changing rooms, showers, restrooms, and a cozy cafe, perfect for lunch or relaxing while enjoying the scenery.
Day 5:
Transport to airport in Puerto Montt for flight to Santiago.
