An exciting and unforgettable experience! Join us for our whitewater rafting adventure in the Andes Mountains.  There is no experience needed to join this fun rafting adventure.

After a two-hour drive from Chile’s capital of Santiago, you will arrive at the village of San Jose de Maipo.  Here you will meet your rafting instructors who will provide you with wetsuits, wet shoes, life jackets, rain jackets, and helmets.  Lockers are available to secure your belongings while on the rafting experience. Following the safety instructions, you will board a van to take you up river to the pull-in point. 

Then the adventure begins!  You will enjoy a 50-minute continuous succession of whitewater rapids, the longest rafting experience on the Maipo River, with class 3 and 4 rapids depending on the time of year, spectacular scenery of the Andes Mountains, and relentless heart-pumping whitewater rapids.   The Maipo River has been consistently ranked one of Chile’s best rafting rivers and is a “must do” activity if you are visiting the Maipo Canyon.  For sure one of the most exhilarating activities you will enjoy while visiting Chile, this whitewater rafting adventure delivers an unforgettable journey into Chile’s river wilderness.

Following the whitewater rafting experience, you will have time for lunch at the rustic countryside Casa Bosque Restaurant in San Jose de Maipo. 

Then, it is wine time!  You will visit Cousiño Macul Vineyard for a winery tour and wine tasting.  Founded in 1856, Cousiño Macul is the only winery in Chile among those established in the 19th Century that continues in the hands of the original founding family.  The mission of Cousiño Macul is to produce world-class wines that are unmistakably Chileancarrying the distinctive character of the Maipo Valley.

11:00 a.m. Whitewater Rafting Experience in San Jose de Maipo
1:30 p.m. End of Whitewater Rafting Experience

2:45 p.m. Depart Restaurant
4:00 p.m. Winery Tour and Wine Tasting at Cousiño Macul Vineyard
5:15 p.m. Depart Vineyard
6:00 p.m. Return to Hotel in Santiago

Please Note

(1) All times are approximate and the order of sites visited may vary.

(2) This tour is available daily during the summer months and only on the weekends during the rest of the year.  

(3) The minimum age for rafting is 10 years old with knowledge of how to swim.

(4) Please bring a bathing suit, towel, and sunscreen for the rafting experience.

(5) Although this is a private tour with your own vehicle and guide, there may be others joining you on the rafting experience and at the vineyard, which is beyond our control.

(6) On Mondays, due to Cousiño Macul Vineyard being closed, we will visit Concha y Toro Vineyard for the winery tour and tasting (Traditional wine tasting option only).  In this case, the restaurant for lunch will be La Vaquita Echá.  Click here for restaurant’s menu.

Optional Wine Tasting Upgrade

  • This tour includes a Traditional Wine Tasting (3 wines) at Cousiño Macul Vineyard.  If you are interested in an upgrade to the Premium Wine Tasting, which includes an additional 3 Premium wines, please indicate this on the Online Reservation Form.  There is an additional charge of USD 25 per person for the wine tasting upgrade.  This will extend the tour return time by half an hour.

  • A 5% booking fee is applied to all purchases.
  • There is a two-person minimum per booking.
  • Child rate: 10-17 years – USD 60.  Child rate applies only when accompanied by 2 full-priced adults.
  • An additional fee applies for pick up from Santiago International Airport (USD 80 for up to 4 guests / USD 150 for 5 guests or more).
  • An additional fee may apply for tours starting and/or terminating in another city other than Santiago.
