Come join us for an enjoyable day and visit the cozy boutique wine vineyards of Haras de Pirque and El Principal in an area known as Alto Maipo, just south of Santiago. Relax and enjoy their award-winning wines in the shadow of the majestic Andes Mountains!
First stop, Viña Haras de Pirque. The visit starts on the main terrace of the wine cellar where the beautiful Maipo Valley and Andes Mountains meet. Moving inside the horse-shoe shaped cellar, you will learn about their winemaking and barrel-aging process, followed by a tasting of three wines – Albaclara Sauvignon Blanc, Reserva de Propiedad and Hussonet Cabernet Sauvignon Gran Reserva – in their memorable “fountain” tasting room.
Then, we visit Viña Perez Cruz, specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon produced and bottled at its origin, which reflects the character and identity of the Maipo Andes. The host will welcome you at the Perez Cruz Visitor Center where you will first tour the vineyard. Then, you will visit the wine cellar. Built in 2002 by Chilean architect Jose Cruz Ovalle, the cellar is constructed one hundred percent of pine wood. The visit culminates with a tasting of two of the vineyard’s prestigious Gran Reserve wines.
A perfect day in the Alto Maipo Valley at two boutique vineyards far away from the crowded, large production wineries!
Please note:
(1) The order of the vineyards visited may vary.
(2) Although this is a private tour with your own vehicle and guide, there may be other visitors at the vineyards joining you on the winery tours and tastings, which is beyond our control.
