This is the ultimate tour for foodies, wine and sparkling wine lovers!
After your hotel pick up, you will drive one-and-a-half hours through the Coastal Mountain Range to Kingston Family Vineyards in Chile’s Casablanca Wine Valley.
In 1906, Carl John Kingston left his home in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan looking for gold in Chile. While he and his wife Caroline never found much gold, their search did yield a cattle ranch in the western hills of Casablanca just 12 miles from the Pacific. Five generations and more than a century later, their descendants are showing the same pioneering spirit as they explore new frontiers in Chilean winemaking.
Today, Kingston is one of a handful of Chilean vineyards leveraging artisan winemaking and sustainable viticulture to share the best of coastal Chile. Master of Wine and renowned international wine critic Tim Atkin recognized Kingston as a First Growth, a standout for consistent quality. Forbes Magazine honored Kingston Family Vineyards as a 2021 Small Giant, a short list of small businesses celebrating greatness over growth. Growing red wine grapes in a valley known for whites, Kingston Family Vineyards has also been hailed as Winery of the Year by Wine & Spirits Magazine.
Upon your arrival you will be greeted with a welcome glass of wine before exploring the winery. Afterwards, your table will be awaiting you for a premium wine-paired lunch at the vineyard’s restaurant with the best view of the Casablanca Wine Valley. Enjoy a unique five-course, wine-paired culinary experience crafted with locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients.
After lunch, you will cross the Casablanca Valley to Viñamar, founded to develop a line of sparkling wines world-renowned for its excellence and quality, and situated in a beautiful Morrocan-style building with a crystal-blue water reflecting pool.
The visit begins with a tour of the vineyard, where you will find out why the Casablanca Valley is a unique valley for the production of cool-climate wines and sparkling wines. Then you will visit the underground cellar where they will explain the two methods used to produce their sparkling wines. To finish, you will enjoy three of their prestigious sparkling wines: Viñamar Brut Unique, Rosé and Extra Brut. A great way to end the day!
Please note:
(1) The order of sites visited may vary.
