After a three-hour drive in a private vehicle to Santa Cruz, capital of the Colchagua Wine Valley, we arrive at Santa Cruz Vineyard.
Here, you will be greeted by our friends at Paracaidismo Chile, a team of trained professionals dedicated to the practice of skydiving in Chile with the highest safety standards. The team is comprised of pilots and instructors certified by the Chile’s DGAC (General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics) and the USPA (United States Parachute Association).
No previous experience is necessary as the team will provide all the instruction you will need. Then, you will board the aircraft on the vineyard’s very own landing strip and fly to an elevation of 4,000 meters (13,000 feet).
Now it is time to take the leap and experience the accelerated tandem freefall with your instructor. You will have 45-60 seconds of pure adrenalin dropping at 200 kilometers (125 miles) per hour. Let your instructor do all the work as you take in the spectacular views of the Andes Mountains to the east, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the region’s wine vineyards in between. In fact, from above you will be able to see the entire width of Chile!
The mission of the team at Paracaidismo Chile is to make you feel comfortable and deliver their service in the best possible way so that you have a great time and memories for a lifetime. A camera man will be recording your jump, so you can take home the video and have the opportunity to show friends and family the amazing adventure you lived in Chile.
Here is what one client had to say about this sky diving experience: Jumping from an airplane absolutely something everyone should do once in their life! I would do it again a thousand times! Paracaidismo Chile is an outstanding company; all their staff are professionals, care about for everyone’s safety, and are also fun, nice and supporting, making this an AMAZING EXPERIENCE! I recommend it a 100%.
After the sky diving experience, it is time to relax and celebrate your accomplishment! You will have time to have lunch at the vineyard’s restaurant (not included).
Then, you will be given a tour of the vineyard and enjoy a tasting of Santa Cruz Vineyard’s wines.
Santa Cruz Vineyard is located one of the country’s most famous wine regions, the Colchagua Valley, set in the heart of the Central Valley, 100 miles (160 kilometers) from Santiago. It is the epicenter of wine production in Chile. Production started here shortly after the Spanish conquest in the mid-16th century with the introduction of vineyards by Jesuit missionaries. The mining boom of the late 19th century brought wealth and noble grapes of French origin. The area is known for its award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah and Carmenere.
During the tour of the vineyard, you will learn how to differentiate their vines. Then, we will continue to their winery to learn about the wine-making process and enjoy the tasting of their Gran Reserva wines. Afterwards, we will take a gondola to the top of Chaman Hill overlooking the vineyard. There, we will walk around an open-air exhibit of Chile’s pre-Columbian cultures and learn how the Aymara, Mapuche and Rapa Nui cultures lived in harmony with nature and their environment through their rituals and beliefs, but especially, we will meet their guides Machi and Chaman, the inspiration behind the vineyard’s wines. We will even see some alpacas!
